It’s really not as bad as the picture might suggest, although that was how it was when Saddleworth Golf Club started. Nowadays we like to think we’re a bit more relaxed, whilst at the same time, we perhaps keep one eye on the traditions of the game. This means that we have a set of dress code rules articulated to help you feel comfortable when you come to use our facilities, knowing that you are maintaining a reasonable and fair standard.
So, from the top:
In the Clubhouse -
Club members attending the Annual General Meeting or other similar Special General Meetings are asked to dress more formally and men are required to wear jacket and tie.
The dress code for members’ social events will be decided on a function by function basis by the Social Committee and highlighted in the publicity.
On the Golf Course -
Shorts must be tailored and free of any external pockets (such as cargo shorts) and must be worn with self colour knee length socks or white sports socks or trainer socks.
Baseball caps, hats or visors must be worn the correct way round and never worn in the clubhouse.
